MS News Covers Hungary Election Between Viktor Orban and Péter Magyar
There are celebrations in the streets of Budapest as Hungary‘s Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, has conceded after a 16-year reign. Just moments ago, he did congratulate center-right challenger Péter Magyar in an election victory. Viktor Orban, who was supported by Donald Trump, called the election defeat painful, but very clear.
With 53% of the votes having been counted now, Péter Magyar‘s Cesari party is projected to win 136 seats in Hungary‘s 199-member parliament. Viktor Orban‘s Fidesz party is on track to take 56 seats. We believe a lot of those people there that have gathered to congratulate the victor of the Hungary election are listening to him speak right now. Otherwise, we think they’d be a little more joyful about what they’ve just won.
