Reuters Reports on AI Biological Human Brain Cell Neuron Computer
This is the world’s first commercial AI biological computers, running on living human cells. The CL1 computer is the brainchild of Melbourne-based Cortical Labs.
Cortical Labs Han-Wang Chang: This is where the human brain cell neurons would be embedded in.
New AI – Synthetic Biological Intelligence on a Computer Chip
CEO and founder Han-Wang Chang says it fuses cell-derived neurons with silicon, creating a new class of AI known as synthetic biological intelligence.
Cortical Labs Han-Wang Chang: Unlike using artificial neural networks, We grow real biological human brain cell neurons into networks onto computer chips.
AI Learning Capabilities
It sounds like science fiction, but Han says the CL1 is capable of learning and adapting faster than standard silicon-based AI while consuming significantly less energy.
Cortical Labs Han-Wang Chang: We take blood or skin, and we can transform them into stem cells, and from stem cells into human brain cells or neurons that we then use them for compute and intelligence.
Human Brain Cells Needs Human like Organs
Han says the neurons grow on silicon chip, with tiny electrical contacts connecting them to the digital hardware. It’s equipped with an artificial life support system to keep the cells healthy.
Cortical Labs Han-Wang Chang: We have pumps like the heart, waste feeding reservoirs, filtration units like the kidneys, and we have a gas mixer to take carbon dioxide, oxygen, and nitrogen.
Han Says the CL1 Human Brain Cell Neurons could Revolutionize Drug Testing and Personalize Medicine.
Cortical Labs Han-Wang Chang: With this kind of technology, we potentially could grow neurons taken from patients with, say, a dementia or with epilepsy, and test compounds and drugs that would then be personalized and tailored to that patient.
Han’S CL1’s Could Usher in a New Age of AI
Cortical Labs Han-Wang Chang: In the short term, is we can use it for life sciences, for personalized medicine, for drug discovery and development. The longer term vision of the company here is to pioneer a new form of computing, where we can actually use these neurons that can process information with much quicker speed, with much less data, and with much more energy efficiency, so that we can get to intelligence, but without the significant costs associated with it.
CL1 AI biological computers are destined for laboratories and research facilities capable of cultivating their own cells. They’ll be manufactured to order and ready to ship later this year.
Nicholas Hulscher, Epidemiologist – This is straight out of a dystopian nightmare.
Big Tech has officially turned data centers into human-silicon hybrid monstrosities. These AI biological computers use millions of living human brain cell neurons integrated with silicon chips to process information and learn.
So here’s where it actually gets even more disturbing. These living neurons require built-in life support systems that perform like artificial organs, including the heart, lung, and kidney functions to circulate nutrients, regulate oxygen, and remove waste to keep those human brain cell neurons alive.
So in Singapore, a biological data center containing 16 million living human neurons is already operational with 20 what I call biological computing units. So, but this technology isn’t even just confined to data centers. A company called Cortical Labs is now commercially selling individual AI biological computers, the silicon human hybrid monstrosities to customers around the world so people can just buy these. It can’t be ruled out definitively whether these increasingly complex biological hybrid computer systems could develop some sort of consciousness. This is very disturbing.
