ATF Director Open Letter on American Federal Firearms
Today, I will be signing an open letter to the American people and to the federal firearms industry. The ATF open letter will be focused on guidance moving forward with relation to the National Firearms Act. Effective October 9th.
ATF will no longer require Americans or federal firearms licensees to seek approval under the National Firearms Act prior to making or transferring suppressors, short barrel rifles, short barrel shotguns, or any other weapon. No more requirements to register these items in the National Firearms and Transfer Record. These policies will apply to all Americans, not just those that were plaintiffs in the litigation.
I’d like to thank all the American people for your feedback and patience during this process. We look forward to continuing to work with the American people and ensuring that we equally disperse fairness with our regulations and policy throughout the United States.
ATF Open Letter – National Firearms Act Finished
I don’t know if you guys heard. It’s all over social media, and it is official because we got an email from the ATF. They gave us guidance. That’s this right here.
Basically, what this says is that the National Firearms Act is dead. Not only can you get a suppressor over the counter, you can now get a short barrel rifle same day. You can also get a short barrel shotgun same day over the counter as well, 4473. What that means is that basically, if you come in, you pass a background, and you have your Florida concealed carry permit, you can leave the same day with a short barrel shotgun, SBR, or suppressor. Get down to your local dealers.
